Anti-bullying Week
As part of Anti-Bullying week, Tollgate Primary School took part in The Big Anti-bullying Week Scheme, set up by The Diana Awards charity and organisation.
The children were able to watch The Big Anti bullying video provided by the organisation that explored what bullying is, how it can take place physically and virtually, and how it affects many people who face bullying.
During PSHE the children then took part in the Positive Postbox Scheme! We received our very own ‘Positive Post Box’ after signing up for the Nationwide Building Society and The Diana Award’s brand-new pen-pal scheme.
Every child was able to write a letter of positivity to another student - they posted their letters, which will be collected and sent to another school. In return, every child at Tollgate will receive a letter of positivity from other schools across the country.
The children enjoyed spreading positivity! Speaking on The Positive Box Campaign, Head of Advertising & Media at Nationwide, Paul Hibbs, commented: “Working with The Diana Award to promote mutual respect to tackle bullying head-on by spreading messages of hope and positivity is an honour. We’re so pleased Tollgate Primary School wanted to be a part of this mission.
